Projects

Oana Muresan is an independent choreographer and dancer who works primarily in Cluj-Napoca, Transylvania, Romania. She graduated from the “Gheorghe-Dima” National Music Academy completing a BA and an MA in choreography. She first chose this path at age five when she became a gymnast and later specialized in dance and theatre.
Since 2016 she has signed choreographies for various individual or group dance and theatre shows / performances taking place both in conventional spaces as well as in museums and art galleries. She works jointly with the Romanian National Centre for Dance, Fabrica de Pensule, Colectiva A, the Gabriela Tudor Foundation, ARCEN, the Hungarian State Theatre in Timisoara, the “Marin Sorescu” National Theatre in Craiova as performer and dancer.
In 2018, at the International Independent Theatre Festival in Constanţa, Oana was awarded the best choreographer distinction for the show “Heterocromia”. In 2020 the Romanian National Centre for Dance awarded her for her remarkable contribution to contemporary dance in Romania. In March 2022 she opens OM Studio Choreographic Centre in Cluj-Napoca.
Besides her dance and theatre projects, she regularly teaches beginner and intermediate contemporary dance classes for children and adults.
